In paled of BORO

September 17, 2018

One day, I went to Kimono Store Karako, my favorite shop. I found a lot of old kimonos and obis near the entrance. Okamisan said that " a customer gave these goods today because she will move to another place. if you find some good items, please take it."Firstly I found this obi is antique looking only back fabric like Naruto motif ( Japanese traditional food). Dyeing is very good.So I was going to un-sew the Obi. Because the condition is so bad. However I was very surprised that I found this excellent embroidered gold fish. What wonderful !!How shall I do it ?It will need a lot of money to erase stains and to re-dye and re-sew.

However this Obi has a lot of charm.I guess the Obi was born at least 100 years ago. These colors are really antique dye.Fabric is Ro-Tudure, summer fabric.

I feel that kimono culture is very graceful, it is like a dream.
I imagine that
who wore this Obi?
and what kind kimono she wore with?
